Other Commercial Buildings
In today's modern era, there is a fashion to build out of town shopping centres, regenerate old buildings and make the most of the premises we rent or work in. Commonly, glass fronting (curtain walling) is a way of making a statement and done well, it can make any premises look fantastic.
There is however one major downside to creating that look and it falls with the glass itself. Glass roofs, glass shopfronts and large glass windows allow for a massive amount of heat to pass through in the summer and a massive amount of heat to escape in winter (even if they are laminated, double glazed etc. This can then make the conditions inside very uncomfortable.
 | One way of curing this of course is to run highly inefficient (and
environmentally unfriendly) air conditioning units and heaters, but
with the current crazy prices the utility companies are charging, is
this really the solution? Never mind that, what about your Carbon Footprint?
Another problem with large expanses of glass fronted
buildings is the UV light can penetrate through and if you have
| expensive stock such as furniture, clothing, materials, these can fade
over time with constant exposure to the sun.
So - how about an inexpensive Solution? Window Films
supplied and if required fitted by SolaFilm can dramatically reduce the
heat, glare and UV exposure to a building. Take Silver reflective 20
for example. This can reduce the heat from 100% to 20%, dramatically
reduce the glare through the windows and reject 99% of harmful UV
light. That means that aircon units can be lowered by 80% or even
switched off all together. In winter, the opposite applies, the heat is
retained IN the building, so again, you can lower you heating costs
dramatically. Not only that, but as well as getting instant results,
the money you save will have paid for the film and the fitting in
around 18 months!!!! |
But it doesn't need to be silver, we have a wide range of products to suit all tastes and company colour structures. We can even offer a clear product in terms of Spectra 33C - a BRILLIANT product to match LX70 from Bekhart and Presige from 3M, but with BETTER heat rejection at nearly 92% and Visible Light Transmission at 68%. Not only that, but it is CONSIDERABLY more economical than its competition.
So - if you have a commercial premises and you are interested to know more about how we can reduce your utility costs as well as improve your Carbon Footprint, just give us a call. After all, large Shopping Centres Such as The Trafford Centre, The White Rose Centre and Meadow Hall have all taken advantage of such films as well as many many smaller businesses and shops.
